About this directory

What this directory is

Puchong Cafe is an independent directory covering 200 cafes across Puchong, Selangor. It exists for people who want a straight answer to “where should I get coffee or brunch nearby” without wading through scattered posts or outdated blog roundups. Whether you’re hunting for a quiet corner to work from, a spot with decent pastries, or somewhere to bring the family on a weekend, the directory is built to help you compare cafes quickly using consistent, current information.

This is not a paid review site dressed up as a guide. It’s a working reference, maintained on a schedule, with clear rules about what influences a listing’s position and what doesn’t.

Who it’s for

The directory is for residents, office workers, and visitors in and around Puchong who want a shortlist of cafes worth checking out, plus enough detail (location, hours, general feedback trends) to decide if a place fits what they’re after before they travel there.

How listings get here

Every cafe entry starts from public business information: names, addresses, operating hours, contact details, and similar factual data. We then synthesise patterns from recent Google reviews to understand how a cafe is actually performing with customers. We do not copy or republish review text. Where you want to read what people wrote, we link out to the source on Google so you can see it firsthand.

Listed businesses can request corrections to their own factual details, such as an updated phone number, new hours, or a moved address. What they cannot do is edit their own score, sentiment summary, or ranking position. Those come from data and data alone, kept separate from the business’s control on purpose.

How rankings are earned

Rankings follow a published rubric, laid out in full on our methodology page. It weighs review sentiment, consistency, and other measurable factors, applied the same way to every cafe in the directory. No cafe can buy a better position.

Where sponsorship fits in

Some pages may show a “Sponsored” label on a listing. That label is always shown clearly and kept visually separate from the earned ranking. Sponsorship pays for visibility, never for a better score or a higher spot in the rankings. The two systems don’t touch each other.

Who’s behind it

Puchong Cafe is published by Sarah Local Guide, a food blogger since 2015 who brings that background in judging cafes to this directory. Sarah, Managing Director, maintains editorial oversight of the rankings, pulling from published reviews and public business records and refreshing the data every month so listings don’t go stale. Each cafe page carries a “last verified” stamp showing when it was last checked, a small sign of the ongoing maintenance behind the scenes.

Questions, corrections, or sponsorship enquiries can go to hi@puchongcafe.my.

FAQ

Can a cafe pay to rank higher?
No. Sponsorship, when present, is clearly labelled and shown separately. It never changes a cafe's earned ranking.
Do you publish the review text from Google?
No. We synthesise patterns from recent Google reviews and link out to Google if you want to read the original reviews.
Can a business change its own rating?
A listed business can correct factual details like hours or address, but it cannot edit its score, sentiment, or ranking.
How often is the data updated?
The whole directory is refreshed monthly, and each listing shows a last verified date so you can see when it was last checked.
Who do I contact about a listing?
Email hi@puchongcafe.my for corrections, questions, or sponsorship enquiries.
